Newspapers, books, television, radio, internet all contribute to the constant stream of information that bombards us daily. The human brain has a great capacity to filter this information, to find patterns and to store the information. The ideas or "memes" that stick in out minds most are the ones that are the loudest, appeal to our emotions, are spouted by our idols, or simply those most repeated. Advertising depends on this. This information is not necessarily true or even logical, yet it becomes part of us. People will stake their lives on these beliefs.

Why do so many bad ideas or "memes" take hold of the population so readily and others die a quick death? I believe its because people don't question them enough. This website will attempt to analyse the current memes circulating in the popular media and attempt to find out if they are valid or just bunk.
